Information for Breeding Season:
~ You may not cross breed. Earthies can only breed to Earthies, Kirins to Kirins, etc.
~ You must have a Magic Mirror for each pair that you breed.
~ If you are using feathers with the mirror, you must add them to the breeding "concoction" when you fill out the breeding form. You cannot add the feathers after the form is approved by me.
~ The breeding form will be available when the season opens.
~ The season will open every 3 to 6 months.
~ There is no "chance" percentage to factor into the breeding. All pairs that breed will produce at least one offspring.
~ Earth ponies carry their mutations with a 50% chance per mutation per parent. (Example: If the mother has bat wings and crest, and the father has bat wings only, the offspring will have 100% chance of sporting the bat wings and 50% chance of showing the crest.)
~ You are allowed to trade* foals after they are born and are still uncerted, but only for another foal from this breeding season that is uncerted.
~ You may use other user's ponies with their permission, they may charge a breeding fee, though.

*Note: Trading season is different altogether; this is the only time you can trade anything (this includes items) from Ponies of Moonlight outside of the trading season.

The Magic Mirror

This mirror will allow you to breed a female and a male together for one offspring during breeding season (this is coming sooner than you think!). You do not need any other items in order to breed the Ponies, but there will be items available soon to alter the breed, but you always need the Magic Mirror in order to get offspring from two ponies.

 

Feathers
Feathers are not necessary for breeding. However, they can add/guarantee certain characteristics to the offspring. These traits include, (but are not limited to) number, colors, mutations, s-genes, and breed. Each feather can be added to the breeding concoction in order to produce a certain effect on the offspring. Please note that the feathers vary in rarity and price, and some can only be used on certain breeds. You may add as many feathers as you want to the breeding concoction.

The Pink Feather

This feather guarantees a female offspring. Can be used with all breeds.

The Blue Feather

This feather guarantees a male offspring. Can be used with all breeds.

The Brown Feather

This feather guarantees offspring with a crest. Can only be used on the Earth Pony breed.

The Silver Feather

This feather guarantees offspring with a unicorn horn. Can only be used on the Earth Pony breed.

The Black Feather

This feather guarantees offspring with bat wings. Can only be used on the Earth Pony breed.

The Golden Feather

This feather guarantees offspring with pegasus wings. Can only be used on the Earth Pony breed.

The Double Feather

This feather guarantees non-identical twin offspring. Can be used with all breeds.

The Peacock Feather

This is a rare item, indeed! This item, combined with the mirror, guarantees animal/bird mimicry in the coloration of the Ponies' offspring. These types of feathers are very rare, and are hard to get a hold of. Usually there are only one or two released per breeding season. Can be used with all breeds.
